ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION TECHNICIAN

Job Overview
The Electrical Installation Technician for Pacific West Sound specializes in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and audio-visual (AV) systems for commercial and industrial projects across California. This position requires a, skilled and adaptable individual who can manage a variety of electrical and AV tasks, ensure compliance with state and national codes, and provide exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform wiring, equipment mounting, rack building, and commissioning of AV systems with precision and attention to detail.
• Read and interpret schematics, building plan sets, and project specifications to ensure accurate installations.
• Install and configure AV equipment, including displays, projectors, sound systems, control panels, and related components.
• Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting to verify system functionality, performance, and alignment with client needs.
• Collaborate with project managers and designers to integrate systems seamlessly within project scope.
• Communicate effectively with clients, ensuring a positive first-use experience.
• Adhere to company standards, safety regulations, and policies to maintain high-quality aesthetics and a safe work environment.
• Perform service and maintenance calls for existing systems, ensuring ongoing reliability.
• Maintain clean and tidy job sites, removing all empty packaging and containers.
• Take on additional duties as assigned, contributing to team success.

Key Competencies
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical and AV systems, with the ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and project specifications.
• Familiarity with California electrical codes, National Electrical Code (NEC), and California Title 24 requirements.
• Ability to remain professional and courteous in all client and team interactions.
• Initiative to address unexpected technical challenges and find effective solutions.
• Flexibility to pivot between tasks based on project demands.
• Physical ability to lift and move electrical and AV equipment and materials.
• Valid California driver’s license and ability to operate company vehicles.
• A ā€˜can do’ attitude and willingness to take on tasks outside formal job scope.

Work Environment
The Electrical Installation Technician will work in a dynamic environment that requires adaptability and comfort transitioning from indoor settings to outdoor job sites. This position involves both independent work and collaboration with project teams, contractors, and clients.
• Typical hours: Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime or weekend work based on project needs.
• Travel: Regular travel to and from job sites across California.

Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years as a licensed electrician. Specific experience in AV system installation preferred.

• Understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and California Title 24 requirements.
• Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
