History
Brent Milton, owner of Pacific West Sound, developed a deep love of audio, growing up, as well as a delight in understanding how things worked. Like their Dad, Lowell Milton, Brent and his brother Kirk had their own workshop, which soon became Brent’s first speaker test lab!
As Lowell kept the home updated with the most up-to-date sound equipment, Brent soon had quite an inventory of speakers, cables and other electrical devices. Using money he made washing his Dad’s trucks, Brent made his first audio purchase at the tender age of 12 years old.
At the age of 15, Brent’s entrepreneurial spirit led him, with a friend, to start his first business, Ogar Music Services. They quickly revolutionized the high school DJ and music scene, until Brent bought out his partner before the end of his sophomore year.
At 16, Brent, along with another high school friend, purchased Sound Unlimited. After a whole series of mergers and acquisitions, at 20 years old, Brent purchased Pacific West Sound. With a pick-up truck, a trailer and a host of rented trucks, Brent began to monopolize Bakersfield’s concert productions. He learned the ‘old school’ way, by repairing and refining equipment, and learning as much as he could about the intricacies of audio engineering.
Today, PacWest is housed in a 10 000-square foot warehouse and serves a vast array of clients with installation, equipment sales, concert sound, video production, equipment rental, repairs and production training. The company navigates projects from soccer coaches looking for bullhorns to producers of massive events at the LA Coliseum, and everything in between!
PacWest continues to stay on the cutting edge, with state-of-the-art technology and a staff of expert technicians and support staff.
